REPORTS: Sunderland Launch £10m Bid For Peter Crouch

Sunderland have made a £10m offer for Tottenham striker Peter Crouch, according to reports this evening.

The lanky England international may struggle to hold down a first team place now that Spurs have signed Emmanuel Adebayor on loan for the season, and Sunderland are keen to add to their striking options for the season.

Harry Redknapp confirmed there was interest in the player and said it’s now up to Crouch: Spurs boss Harry Redknapp told Sky Sports:

“There are few clubs that want him, but we’ll have to wait and see with that one.

“It’s up to Crouchy. I have had Peter at a few clubs and he’s a good player, great guy, but I suppose with Adebayor coming in it is an area that we are a little bit overloaded in and he is one that people want.

“If we’re going to do something with somebody then it is a possibility.”
