Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins feels his old club are happy not to be mentioned as title contenders.

Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins feels his old club are happy not to be mentioned as title contenders.

The Blues have been written off by some critics and pundits with some suggesting the players are too old to mount a serious challenge on Manchester United and Manchester City who have both started the season in Championship winning form, and Wilkins told talkSPORT:

“I’m sure the lads at Chelsea will be quite happy that no-one is talking about them.”

The former Chelsea No2 admits the club will be happy to go under the radar and claims the team remains confident they can still win the league over their Manchester rivals.

“In the last couple of years everyone has been talking about them.

“Knowing most of the guys in the changing room, they’re very determined and they’re all winners.”
