Arsenal Transfer News: Wenger Willing To Sell Ace In January

Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal winger Andrei Arshavin as owner Suleyman Kerimov looks to continue his big spending policy.

Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal winger Andrei Arshavin as owner Suleyman Kerimov looks to continue his big spending policy.

The wealthy Russian outfit have already signed Samuel Eto’o, Roberto Carlos and Yuri Zhirkov this summer and the Dagestan based side will hope to lure Arshavin back to his native homeland.

The 30-year old has been a shadow of his former self in the past 18 months and Arsene Wenger will be keen to sell the wide man with his contact up at the end of next summer, and some suggest Arshavin would jump at the chance to move back home.

Arshavin was an instant hit with the Arsenal faithful when he burst on the scene back in 2009 but has since failed to live up the originally hype and was linked with a move away from the club earlier on in the summer.

Rumours suggested that if Arsene Wenger had persuaded Samir Nasri to stay this summer the Russian would have been showed the exit with Italian giants Juventus keen to sign the former Zenit St. Petersburg man.

    Also Diaby out MVila in

    Rosicky out Martin in

    Squillaci out Cahill in

    Chamakh out Benzema in

    Djourou out Vertonghen in

I like your thinking, but I’d replace Rosicky with Ozyakup and Djourou with Bartley.

Vela out and Messi in, Arshavin out and Ronaldo in, Djourou out and Vidic in, Squillaci out and Terry in.

This is just as likely as your suggestions, NOT likely at all!!!!!

Step up to the over 21’s u clueless fool!?!?!

Ramsey is the captain of the senior Welsh national team!!

I wish people knew what they were talking about before embarrassing themselves on these comment boards.

People like you are an embarrassment to our club. You know nothing about the team or the players – all you’re interested in is the club spending money. That makes me laugh cos how much have u put in??? How many games have u been in 2011? Or 2010 etc? Probably none.

So switch on your Playstation and spend our money there – fantasy land is where your views belong you fool

if it´s happend i will be very happy man and Arsenal can be lucky if can sell him and bring someone fresh and worthy in this great club. there is many of them in our squad, who sould say farvel already. I hope our good manager buy some high class player this time and bring the glory days back to our club, I think all Arsenal fans deserve it.

Won’t miss arshavin at all so why wud we hold onto him.. The way the club is being run is really annoying.. 1st 11 shud be worldclass no if’s or buts..!! Then u have a 2nd eleven made up of squad players(good players from mid table teams) and very very talented young players(under 21).. Big clubs generate money from trophies, merchandise, tv rights and attendance NOT BY SELLING THEIR STARS..!!

Good idea, let’s keep players that don’t want to play for us. That’ll bring us success.

Nasri was never going to be allowed to leave on a free so we had to sell him and we all know the Cesc story.

Utd sold their best players and used the money to win a title – Tevez and Ronaldo left at the same time.

And you seem to be a championship manager freak as well.

Did u not notice that we moved stadium?? Don’t forget that cost us nearly £500m. We were warned that selling players to make money was on the cards. We never had the financial resouces of a Utd and now Chelsea and Man City. But we’re still the third most successful team in England.

So get with the programme. When the stadium is paid for, then we’ll see a different Arsenal.

    September 10, 2011 at 1:35 am

Yeah u idiots let’s be Man City and replace the whole team over 2 transfer windows!!

Realistically we can expect maybe 1 or 2 if any in January – we signed 10 players this summer.

If we could get Cahill and Hazard next summer and promote some youth we’ll be up there.

Getting rid of bums like Squillaci and Almunia would be good but as we found this year, nobody wants our dross.

The guy that put £11m for Chamakh hasn’t seen him play. Bendtner is as good a player and we couldn’t get £8m for him. And Fabianski on free but £2m for Almunia??? You must be on crack.

7 out of 10 of you have never been to game and probably only started supporting the club since Wenger came in. Football started before 1996 you know!!!

You fools might think this is championship manager but get serious.

Hazard and Cahill will complete our squad and we’ll be a force for years, but to think another 10 odd players would come in is ridiculous.

I think a lot of you need to think before you comment!!

This is not a fantasy land and you should be embarrassed for thinking we are anything like a Chelsea or City. But if you want this sort crazy transfer activity, I’ve already named 2 clubs you should go and support. That way you’d get your £100m of signings a season.

i agree that cahill and hazard wud be great additions to our squad, i wud also like to see M’villa signed next summer and there are some dead weight at the club, but i believe that the squad is strong enough with these additions. There are some players that are within reach and wud aid the squad such as Kaka, but atm there are alot of injuries so just wait and see how strong the team is when it is at full strength before people go judging arsenals capabilities.

    September 10, 2011 at 5:10 am

You need to chill Ryan, your right about being realistic but that doesn’t mean that we should have to settle for a team that hasnt got enough depth! Should have bought another centre back and we need to get rid of dead wood in midfield. Hungry passionate and quality midfielders, not injury prone Czechs and lazy Russians!!!

  14. Ryans a tool

    September 10, 2011 at 5:19 am

And for the record I still think we can finish top four and we do have a good core, just think if we’re ever gonna truly compete for honours we need that passion and belief of our past great teams. At the moment I don’t see it on the pitch and that pisses me off more than anything. Get rid of these non performers even if it is just to take the temptation of playing them away!!
