Joe Cole Set For Tottenham Move?

The new pretender’s in the Premier League’s top 4 Tottenham Hotspur, have reportedly identified Chelsea’s Joe Cole as one of their prime summer targets as Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his squad ahead of an exciting season ahead for the North London club. Cole is out of contract in the summer and has yet to agree a new deal at Stamford Bridge. He is also reportedly considering a move abroad with the likes of AC Milan and Internazionale courting his services. A possible reunion with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may loom. The 28 year old also played under played Harry Redknapp at West Ham United when the silky midfielder began his career. According to reports Cole is anchoring for a £100,000 a week wage packet from The Blues who seem to be reluctant to agree to those terms with Spurs also not willing to exceed a £60,000 a week contract for the former Hammer. Redknapp’s Tottenham side qualified for the preliminary round of the Champions League Wednesday night after defeating Manchester City at Eastlands and the Spurs boss is due to meet with owner Daniel Levy next week to discuss the clubs transfer activity over the coming months.
“We haven’t really got any targets yet.” Redknapp said.
“We have looked at a lot of players, but we will see how we go with that.”
Meanwhile Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is confident that Joe Cole will be staying put in West London with the club set to sit down with the England man after the FA Cup final to discuss his future.
“In January I said that nobody came in, and nobody came in,” the Italian said
“And so I think Joe wil stay, but we have ten days to wait because the club will speak with Joe Cole and the other players who are at the end of their contracts after the FA Cup Final.”
