TRANSFER NEWS: Spanish Giants Set To Bid For United Star In January

By on October 4, 2011

Valencia will make a £12m bid for Man Utd striker Dimitar Berbatov in January, according to reports.

The La Liga outfit tried to sign the Bulgarian during the summer but Sir Alex Ferguson rejected their advances preferring to keep hold of last seasons Premier League top scorer.

However, Berbatov has seen his first team chances limited this term with Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck all ahead in the pecking order.

Berbatov is in the final year of his contract and will be able to talk with any club in January with Bayern Munich, PSG, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid all keeping tabs on him. But Valencia are keen to fend off the competition and hope £12m will be enough to force United into selling early before they risk losing him for nothing next summer.
