Scout Reveals Chelsea “Keeping Tabs” On Starlet

Chelsea’s South American scout has confirmed the club are monitoring the progress of Universidad de Chile defender Igor Lichnovsky.

Jorge Alvia revealed the club are interested in signing the 17-year old but admits transfers from the continent prove time consuming with the player needing extra time to adapt to English life.

“Igor is a very good player. We are keeping tabs on him and have added his name to our shortlist. He is one of the players who we are closely following,” Alvial was quoted as saying by La Tercera.

“We are not in a rush, though, and we realise that transfers from South America to England are not easy. For example, I scouted Franco Di Santo and it took him six months to adapt when we signed him for Chelsea.”

Lichnovsky has already represented Chile at Under-17 level and has been tipped for a bright future in his native homeland.
