Wenger: Kaka’s Form Is Encouraging

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Brazilian star Kaka is struggling with life at Real Madrid following a spate of injuries.

Wenger was linked with a shock move in the summer for the former World Player of the Year but a move failed to materialise. Now the Frenchman has questioned whether Kaka will be able to force his way in to the Real Madrid first team after an injury-plagued few years in Spain. He told Sport:

“Everyone said that Kaka was finished. Now players are judged by their recent performances. When such players are injured for so long, it is very difficult to recover their form if you do not leave a sufficient time.

“I felt last year at the end of the season his form was encouraging.”

Wenger added: “Kaka’s problem is he’s playing in a team that has (Mesut) Özil, who is young and strong. Becoming a first-choice at Madrid will be very hard for him.”

Kaka was close to moving to Premiership rivals Manchester City back in 2009 before he opted for a move to La Liga where he has failed to live up to his huge price-tag due mainly to his injury problems.
