Brazilian legend Ronaldo believes Santos star Neymar will go on to be one of the best players in the world.

The Santos wonderkid has been linked with Europe’s elite for the past two seasons, with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid favourites to the land the starlet. Chelsea have also been credited with the 19-year old, but will face stiff competition for their La Liga counterparts.

Ronaldo believes the youngster needs to move to Europe in order to fulfil his world wide status.

“Leaving aside selflessness and patriotism, Neymar has to look at the things which will help him conquer the world,” Ronaldo told ESPN.

“If he can play in Europe the way he does in Brazil, very soon he would be the best player in the world.

“I cannot decide for him. But it is clear that if Neymar came to me for advice I would say the best thing is to go to Europe and choose the best team for him.”

The Blues will be hoping to persuade Neymar that west London represents the best option for him, with a couple of his Brazilian national team-mates currently flourishing in the Chelsea side.
