SPURS SOURCE: Luka Will Sign New £100k Per Week Contract
Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric is set for a double your money deal at White Hart Lane with the added incentive of bonuses that could see him earning £100k each week.
Spurs are hoping to end a summer of discontent that saw their playmaker hand in a transfer request to force a move to Chelsea by offering him a £90,000 a week basic contract, which will see the Croatian double his current £45,000 a week deal.
The deal will also include performance related bonuses which could see the 26-year old earn well over £100,000 a week. The club are hoping to tie down the midfielder until 2017 and finally end rumours of a move away from the club.
“There is a bit of work to do but it looks like Luka will sign the new contract,” a White Hart Lane source told Goal.com. “He’s happy again playing for the club and has put the summer speculation behind him.
“In an ideal world, the club want to agree more than just a pay rise and are looking to get a one-year extension out of him.”
Chelsea had several bids turned down for Modric with the latest thought to be worth around £40million.
