Arsenal Legend: Jones Reminds Me Of Chelsea Ace

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has likened Manchester United youngster Phil Jones to Chelsea’s David Luiz.

Keown was impressed by Jones in England’s 2-2 draw against Montenegro on Friday night and compared his  style of play to that of the Chelsea defender. However, Keown also pointed out that Jones still has work to do. He wrote in his column for the Daily Mail:

“Phil Jones is very confident, almost fearless. He looks assured in his passing and his swashbuckling style reminds me of Chelsea’s David Luiz.

“He clearly wants to make an impression and is a great talent but I would have liked to have seen him get back quicker for the Montenegro goal and he was lucky not to concede a penalty.”

Jones moved to Old Trafford in the summer for a fee thought to be worth £17million.
