Cahill – I Need Move To Ensure England Place

By on October 9, 2011

Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill is fearful his club sides poor form could affect his chances of cementing a place in the England side ahead of the Euro 2012 Championships.

The 25-year-old was strongly linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool during the summer and it’s thought the trio will come back in and test Bolton’s resolve in January.

The former Villa man has played in his country’s last three matches, but has also been part of the Bolton side that has shipped 21 goals in just 6 games, and Cahill feels the manager may well pick players who are part of a successful team ahead of him.

“It would mean everything to me to go to the Euros with England and I hope that I have proved that I am ready for it.” He told The Mirror.

“I will have to help Bolton turn things around if I want to be involved with England.

“I haven’t got a bad word to say about Bolton because the club has been so important to my career.

“But obviously, it is going to be harder for a player to hold down an England place if you are battling at the opposite end of the table to players who you are challenging with.

“I look at players such as Rio Ferdinand, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling at Manchester United and they are at a club that’s having a terrific season.

“They are a big part of what is happening at United, so it’s always going to be hard for me.

“I have played the past three internationals, so you can play for Bolton and England.

“But it’s also a fact of life that I will always be looking over my shoulder for players who are at the top clubs.

“Competition is healthy and all I can do is my best for Bolton, keep working hard and hope that it’s good enough for Fabio Capello.”

Hey PED…..He will NOT be going to Liverpool, and you know why?, he’s NOT good enough. A totally average and overated player!, he would not be still playing for Bolton (no disrespect) at his age, if he had quality, so your beloved manure can have him!!!.

Yeah, but Carragher is retiring soonish – so you’ll need another entirely overrated, average centreback to replace the one you will lose. Anyway, Cahill is already better than Carragher has ever been…

Are you having a laugh? Ok maybe Carragher is moving past his best phase but seriously have you seen Cahill play? I’m a Liverpool supporter through and through and for me Jones / Smalling are far better players. Hugely disappointed when Jones chose to sign for Man U and hugely relieved when we didn’t get Cahill!

Not good enough for a mid table team, hahaha

Given the Liverpool desire to overpay for mediocre players they will probably offer £40 million.

Cahill is a joke. Why should he be fearful that his club’s poor form would jeopardize his chances of featuring for England in the Euro 2012 Championships? Bolton are leaking goals for fun and anyone could have told him that the club’s poor run is all down to him. Cahill is over-rated and over-hyped just like all the other mediocre British players.

We are know that Cahill is centreback. Why not at LFC we try to use him for DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD??? He is good holder, tough tackle and strong in defend….the best is he can help the foward, asist and score the goal.Coates very good to stand for our lastman b4 Reina.Think about it kenny.

Cahill’s a good player. THe run of games Bolton have had to start their season has been well hard. He isn’t the only player on the pitch for bolton, the goalie has been beyond poor and let in goals he shouldn’t have. Some of you idiots see the scoreline and mouth off without looking at the reasons, “Cahill’s a defender, he must be to blame for every goal they’ve let in”…retards. Put him in a decent team, with better players around him and he’s a good player. Bolton either take what they can get for him in january or lose him in the summer for nothing, so whoever gets him will have done a great bit of business.
