Aymen Abdennour claims Arsenal are continuing to check his progress, after some impressive displays for his new club.

The Toulouse left back has made an excellent start to life in Ligue 1 after his summer move from Tunisian giants Étoile du Sahel, and the player confirmed the Gunners have sent scouts to watch him in action and he feels his performances should have impressed the Arsenal officials. He told Footplus:

“It’s [Arsenal’s interest] true, I heard a lot of talk while I’ve been at Toulouse. They come to watch and scout players. They came to see our last three matches in which I put forward excellent performances for my side, Toulouse. I’m still working hard at Toulouse and I’m still young in age, I’m just 22-years-old.

“My agent, Mr. Abdelkader, he’s the one focused on these things. He’s a professional and he always tells me to work hard and whatever is good for me, god will help it through. I need to work and stay focused with my side.

“We’re going through a good period at Toulouse. God willing, we’ll continue on this path and then hopefully the two sides can come to an agreement. I’m not going to get involved.”

Abdennour insists he’s fully committed to his new club, but has failed to rule out a future move to north London.

“I don’t know, hopefully. Why not?. If there’s something good for the player and for Toulouse in me being transferred to a big club like Arsenal then why not? Right now I’m still happy at my club. I want to improve at Toulouse.

“We have a team that has an average age of 24. I hope we do well. I’m focused on my club and, as I told you, I have my agent, Kader, who’s focused on these things.”
