Liverpool vs Man United: A Few Thoughts Before The Big One

It’s been a long week. I’m not going to lie. But there’s nothing better than a victory against our arch-rivals.

Well, just came back from camp and well thought I simply had to do something about the Liverpool FC – Man United encounter this upcoming weekend. 4th or 5th seems to be a reasonable bet […]

It’s been a long week. I’m not going to lie. But there’s nothing better than a victory against our arch-rivals to cheer us up.

For Liverpool, 4th or 5th seems to be a reasonable bet for this season, I personally see being in the top 3 out of the question as of right now.

Another interesting thing for me to point out is that we finally have a fully fit first team squad for our game against Manchester United. Martin Kelly, Fabio Aurelio and Glen Johnson have all shrugged off injuries so it will be interesting to see how Kenny Dalglish fields his team today.

Steven Gerrard’s return also brings a very positive feeling for us Liverpool fans going into the game being that he’s so talismanic and that he brings so much into this team. Call it experience, call it leadership, Gerrard’s a legend in the middle of the park.

Firepower and a very sturdy defence is key here. A single mistake could cost the game in such a high intensity match like this one. I personally foresee a game of lots of shots and I predict a high scoring game out there this lunchtime.

But it almost certainly could be a very physical game as well. This encounter is recognized as a very physical match, given that the players would throw everything that they have for their side to have the bragging rights come the next meeting.

Suarez will be key in this game. He will be marked really closely here given the fact that he destroyed that backline of the Red Devils just a few months ago with his trickery on the ball. He CAN and WILL test the Red Devils to the limit in this game.

Liverpool themselves have to contain a few threats. I personally see Ashley Young as the biggest threat at the moment. A man coming in with lots of form. 2 goals and 5 assist is an impressive total so far this season.
