Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has dismissed speculation about his future and says he intends to remain at Old Trafford next season and by joining United he achieved everything he wanted in the game. Berbatov joined United from Tottenham in a £30m deal in 2008 and has a contract until 2012, but the 29-year-old had an up-and-down year at Old Trafford last season hitting just 12 goals and put in some below-par displays while Wayne Rooney was out injured.

Reports have suggested Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to cut his losses and is willing to listen to offers for the Bulgarian, but Berbatov wants to stay in Manchester and is tired of being asked where he will be playing next season.

“My goal is to remain with United, the best team in the world, and to see out my contract with the club. “I know I have the qualities to do so. By joining Manchester United I have achieved everything I wanted.

“I want to ask why every second question I get is about where I am going next year.

“I wonder why the media don’t wish me luck for my next year with United, but ask me where I am going.”

Manchester United fans are divided on whether Berbatov should remain at United. Some see him as a lazy player who doesn’t fit in with the United work ethic, while others see his talent and feel he deserves another chance to fulfil his potential. With Sir Alex Ferguson being linked with moves for the likes of Benzema and Suarez, Berbatov could see himself moved on despite his desire to stay.

it’s not to achieve what you have wanted on your personal interest…it’s whether we (fans) see you as an achievement in our club…U MAKE ME SICK…your not worth even 10m…

he should be given a chance to prove himself at least, not to man u, but to the fans and the town, after all what’s a football club without it’s supporters…

As a spurs fan, I’d have him back in an instant. He doesn’t fit the utd ethic. He’d work at barca oddly enough. But they wouldn’t need him at all. He’d be the hold up man at spurs too. (not suggesting spurs and barca play anyway simelar) but like macca at west ham to Liverpool. Looked a totally different player. For spurs he consistently scored, but in a team that plays sharp front. Not gunna happen for the 1 touch pony.

So by achieving his football ambitions by joining United, he has no need to try and win anything with them…on the basis of his performances in the season just gone, that sounds about right!Where is his show of desire to win medals???
