Dalglish Admits Confusion Over £20m Henderson

By on October 22, 2011

Kenny Dalglish admits he does not yet know Jordan Henderson’s best position but insists he has a bright future at Liverpool.

The 21-year-old made the £20million switch from Sunderland to Liverpool in the summer but his price tag has appeared to have brought with it, undeserved pressure which see Reds fans and Daglish alike still waiting to see the best of what the player has to offer.

In Liverpool’s two major games this season against Manchester United and Everton the midfielder has been left warming the bench, much to his frustration.

But, after Lucas picked up five yellow cards, leaving him suspended for the Norwich game on Saturday, Henderson suddenly has a way back into the starting line-up. And whilst Dalglish has revealed he is yet to know the best position for Henderson, he believes the former Sunderland player has a bright future at Anfield.

“I don’t know his best position yet – but I know his best club and that’s this one,” said Dalglish.

“We just want him to play and enjoy playing. He’s a talented footballer with a great future in front of him and we are just delighted he chose to come here.

“He’ll be here for a long, long time and he’s going to be a tremendous asset for us. He’s got patience too.”

He added: “He’s a young boy who has come down from Sunderland and is starting to settle in really well now.

“He’s another option for us in midfield this weekend. I’ve just got to make the right decision.”

Don’t know his best position? What kind of crap is that? Why did you buy him in the first place, coz u think his best club is Liverpool? How stupid is this from Kenny. We needed wingers and got just one, still use Kuyt the donkey as another whilst Bellamy warms the bench. What a load of tosh!!!

your an idiot ndebenkulu, henderson is a central midfield player who can play out wide, his not an out and out winger like downing is, he can play in an advanced central role or deeper role also.

@jayden: It’s crystal clear to you that Anderson is a central midfielder, yet Dalglish does not know Anderson’s best position. There could only be one moron here. It’s either Dalglish or you and I hope you are right.
