Huge Boost For Arsenal As Vermaelen Set To Return Tonight Against Bolton

By on October 25, 2011

Arsenal have received a huge boost with the news that key defender Thomas Vermaelen is back in full training and is set to return against Bolton tonight.

Vermaelen has been on the sidelines since August with an achilles injury and underwent surgery to rectify the problem. The Belgian has now returned to training and manager Arsene Wenger confirmed the defender is back:

He is back in full training again, he is alright now.

Vermaelen has trained ahead of tonights Carling Cup tie against Bolton and is set to take part in the match, although it’s not clear if he will start or come on as a sub at some point.   If all goes to plan, the 25-year-old will be back in contention to play against Chelsea on Saturday.
