Former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi may be set for a summer return to English shores after his agent revealed his client is wanted man by Premier League clubs. The 23 year old American-born Italian international departed Old Trafford three years ago to La Liga outfit Villarreal for £6.6million after failing to establish himself as a United regular. Since then his career has really took off as he has been a regular in The Yellow Submarine’s starting eleven netting 45 goals in 122 appearances as well as playing in the Champions League.

Rossi’s agent Andrea Pastorello has publicly revealed that there is a strong interest in his player as clubs in England and Italy sought after his signature with Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester City all in the hunt.

“Several teams like Giuseppe in Italy. Juventus and Roma are important clubs, also Napoli and Fiorentina, but there are no real negotiations yet.” he said.

“I’m not sure whether Rossi will certainly come back to Italy, in recent weeks he was also viewed by several English clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City.”

Italy coach Marcello Lippi has named Rossi in his 30 man preliminary squad for next months FIFA World Cup in South Africa. He has already made 14 appearances for The Azzurri scoring three times with his first coming last June. He will be hoping to make the final cut of 23 as the world champions prepare to defend their crown.
