Villas-Boas Chasing £5m Portuguese Starlet

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is keeping tabs on Portuguese midfielder Vitor Gomes, according to reports.

Gomes is a 23-year-old who plays for relatively unknown Rio Ave in Portugal and his versatility has caught the eye of the Chelsea boss who, according to the Mirror, has identified the defensive midfielder who can also play at right-back.

Blues boss Villas-Boas is looking for competition for Jose Bosingwa and may be able to get Gomes for a bargain £5million. Gomes is represented by agent Jorge Mendes and it is believed Chelsea have already sent scouts to track resourceful midfielder.
