Newcastle Ace Rules Out Arsenal Or Chelsea Move

By on October 30, 2011

Newcastle star Cheick Tiote admits he’s not interested in a move away from the club, despite the reported interest of Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Ivorian international has been linked with both Arsenal and Chelsea in recent weeks, but the combative midfielder is just happy to keep working hard and to stay out of the referees’ notebook. Tiote, already booked three times this season, when questioned about the interest shown in him told the Sunday Mirror:

“Last season was my first in England and it was difficult for me. I didn’t know exactly what the Premier League was about.

“I was desperate to show to the people the quality that I had so I was working hard, tackling hard. But this season, I think it’ll be OK with referees.

“I am happy at Newcastle and I have a long contract. Every player wants to play in Europe and I am no different. I think Newcastle can get into Europe.”
