Liverpool Ace Happy But Wants Goals

Liverpool fullback Jose Enrique has admitted he is happy with life on Merseyside but is keen to open his Premier League account.

The Spaniard, a £6million acquisition from Newcastle, has admitted his game has improved since his arrival in England, particularly the defensive side of his game. Enrique has already developed a good understanding with Stewart Downing down the left-hand side and he wants to push that further if he can, and get his first goal on English soil.

“I have always enjoyed attacking. When I was younger playing in Spain, I was more of an attacking player than a defender,” Enrique told liverpoolfc.tv.

“In England you have to learn to defend because the wingers are the best in the world.

“I have learned a lot about defending here because my football has always been attacking.”

“At the moment I am happy. It is easy to play with the players I am training with every day. We have a good team.

“But of course I want to score goals – I have never scored in the Premier League.”
