Chelsea Battle Madrid For Argentine ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’

Chelsea are keeping tabs on River Plate attacker Lucas Ocampos but face stiff competition from Real Madrid for his signature.

Spanish publication AS believes Ocampos’ excellent start for River in the Argentine Second Division has brought him to the attention of Mourinho as well as former apprentice Andre Villas-Boas, who are now having the youngster watched by chief scouts.

The 17-year old has been revelation for the South American giants who are playing in Argentina’s second tier of football for the first time in their history following their relegation last term, and the attacker has drawn comparisons to Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo due to his physical frame and playing style.

River Palte are desperate to get back into the top flight and insist they won’t consider selling Ocampos until they’re back in the top tier of Argentine football, but that won’t stop Chelsea and Real Madrid making January enquiries.
