Liverpool Ace – Suarez Better Than Torres

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has claimed that Luis Suarez is even better than former team mate Fernando Torres.

Torres was once a firm favourite at Anfield and scored 65 goals in 102 games during his time at Liverpool. He then joined Chelsea from the Reds last January for £50m and has failed to live up to his huge price tag, struggling to recreate his past form.

Liverpool replaced Torres with Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, whom they signed from Ajax for £24m, and the 24-year-old has become an instant hit on Merseyside with some eye-catching performances. Goalkeeper Reina believes that although both are great strikers, Suarez is proving to be an even better additional to the team than his predecessor.

“Fernando is top class; Luis is as good or even better than Fernando,” said the Reds goalkeeper.

“Those players are really special. You don’t find those kind of players very often.

“The club did a good job in signing Luis and hopefully he will be many years with us and hopefully he will score as many goals as Fernando.”
