Liverpool Transfer News: Kenny Shows Interest In €20m Chelsea Target

Liverpool are interested in signing Porto’s defensive midfielder Fernando Reges but may face competition from Chelsea for his signature, according to reports today.

Manager Kenny Dalglish has identified the 24-year-old, known simply as ‘Fernando’, as a potential replacement for the injured Lucas Leiva, you has suffered knee ligament damage last week.

Club owners are willing to back Dalglish in the transfer market this January in a bid maintain their push for a top four finish, and midfield cover has become a priority.

Its reported that Liverpool had scouts watch the Brazilian in action during Porto’s 0-0 draw with Zenit St Petersburg on Tuesday, which saw the Portuguese side crashed out of the Champions League, and it’s now hoped they will be willing to cash in on one of their prized assets.

Fernando is valued by his club at around €20m but Liverpool may face competition from rivals Chelsea, who have also been keeping a close eye on the player.

      loll…..eventhough liverpool signed lionel messi also they will finish after 6 th position only…..chelsea forever…..

        Is this the same Chelsea that Liverpool beat twice on their home ground in front of embarressed supporters recently. Ask Torres – life is not fun at Chelsea these days & will only get worse.
