BREAKING NEWS: John Terry Picks Up Ankle Injury In Training – UPDATED

Chelsea captain John Terry has picked up an ankle injury during a training session this morning and is no a major doubt to face Tottenham on Thursday.

Terry was already a doubt after jarring his knee during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Wigan, but manager Andre Villas-Boas was confident the defender would recover in time to face Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Thursday.

However, the club have confirmed today on their Twitter feed that Terry has been forced off during a morning training session after picking up an ankle injury, and is currently undergoing treatment.

It would be a bitter blow for the Blues to lose their captain for such a vital game, with Chelsea and Tottenham both battling to keep pace with league leaders Manchester City.


Chelsea have given an update on the Terry injury via Twitter. Good news Chelsea fans:

“John Terry update – he pinched his Achilles blocking a shot, and will be OK for Spurs on Thurs”
