Reports: Chelsea Linked With €42m Move For Di Maria

Chelsea have held talks with the representatives of Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria, according to Spanish sports paper Marca.
The 23-year-old has apparently become disillusioned at Madrid after a proposed pay-rise failed to materialise, and is now looking for a move to the Premier League.
Marca, who are known to have a close connection with Real Madrid, claim that Chelsea have been alerted to the players frustrations and are lining up a €42m (£35m) move for the Argentinean ace.
It’s believed that Jose Mourinho will do all he can to prevent Di Maria from leaving the Bernabeu as the winger has been in fine form this season and has so far provided more assists than any other player this season.
The report goes on to say that Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas considers Di Maria a perfect signing and a player that will add some much-needed creativity to the Blues front line.
Interestingly, and where i feel this report loses it’s credibility, Marca also claim that officials have already met with Di Maria’s representatives and put forward an offer to the player, which includes the pay-rise he’s looking for.
If true, surely Chelsea are in breach of FIFA regulations having spoken to a player before getting agreement from the ‘selling’ club? There could be some foundation to this transfer rumour, however it’s highly unlikely Chelsea have already met with Di Maria’s agents.
