Reports: Liverpool Line-up £10m Move For Jermain Defoe

Liverpool have been linked with a £10m move for Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe, with the Mirror claiming Kenny Dalglish will look to add the striker this month

Jermain Defoe

With two weeks remaining of the January transfer window, the rumours are coming in thick and fast. Today sees the Mirror link Liverpool with a move for Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe.

Liverpool have been short of goals this season, with only 24 Premier League goals to their name so far this term. A worrying stat and highlighted further when you consider struggling pair Bolton and Blackburn have both managed to score 25 and 32 respectively.

Liverpool’s cause hasn’t been helped by the eight-match suspension to star striker Luis Suarez and with Andy Carroll struggling to find his feet at Anfield, the Mirror believes Kenny Dalglish is looking to add a fresh face to his attack this January.

The report claims the man ‘King Kenny’ has identified to solve his striking woes is Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe, with the Reds preparing a £10m offer for the England striker.

Defoe has struggled to hold down a first team place at White Hart Lane this season, despite scoring seven goals in just seven starts in the league.

Tottenham are on the look-out for a new striker themselves, with Harry Redknapp in the stands to watch target Lioc Remy in action for Marseille yesterday.

More ‘n more Over-the-hill English players! Someone they will regret buying when they don’t perform.Spurs want him out as they realize , being better than LFC , they need to get quality. Liverpool very useful though to cash in some has-been to.

£10m?? Try doubling that. You paid £20m for Henderson who is useless. Goal scorers come at a premium you won’t be getting anyone from spurs on the cheap. Now run along.

Forget about Defoe! He plays only for himself. Liverpool need a top class team player and striker who will be able to work with Suarez when he returns soon.

Please don’t waste money on other EPL rejects. Jelavic, Dempsey or Ba are worth consideration if the money is unavailable for players currently playing overseas.
