Transfer News: Hazard Saga Finally Nearing An End?

Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Lille winger Eden Hazard, according to the Daily Mail, after Real Madrid also increased their interest in the player

Chelsea are edging closer to sealing a deal for Lille winger Eden Hazard, according to the Daily Mail.

With little over two weeks remaining in the January transfer window it seems Andre Villas-Boas is keen to strengthen his squad further after finally completing a deal for Gary Cahill yesterday.

The Daily Mail reported over the weekend that Hazard’s own agent was expecting the Blues to submit a bid of around £25m for the player, and now they claim that sources at Lille think the 21-year-old has already discussed personal terms with Chelsea.

Sportsmail understands that Andre Villas-Boas has been forced to act quickly to try and secure a deal after Real Madrid stepped up their interest in the player, with Hazard previously declaring his preference for a move to the Bernbeau.

Hazard is one of Europe’s most highly-rated youngsters with Premier League big-guns Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham all previously linked with the playmaker, so if Chelsea could land him it would be a major coup.

With so many reported suitors, it’s hard to see Chelsea being able to snap him up without a fight. I expect this protracted transfer saga to continue for a little while yet….possibly even until the summer.

Franky u are a fool for posting dat comment. Chelsea remains a strong team so long am concern. The likes of Manchester giants are out of uefa n chelsea is still there. Am happy for what d situation is right nw at chelsea. The bluez alwayz loose the tittle to united due to lost of form at d sumarizing stage of d league. But am happy coz it happened at d earliest stage of d competition, at least we taking care of d situation n by d time our rivals wil loose theres(forms) we will b at our peak.
So mind d kind of comment u make here.

I´m so glad we have spent 70 plus million on Carrol, Downing and, specially, Henderson, instead of Mata, Hazard and Adebayor. Let´s get british! It´s working wonderfully so far. Let´s sign some more wingers and midfielders like Hoillet, Morison and Jarvis! They are absolutely Liverpool quality. God, do I miss Benitez! Her had to work with those yanks and still made plenty of good deals, imagine now with those 110 million we spent this past year and a half.
Go on, Chelsea, get Hazard. We have Henderson creating our goals and it´s working out just fine. Right, Kenny?

I agree Fabio. As much as it hurts me and i guess most off the die hard liverpool supporters, KD has signed all the wrong players with top dollar. Love him to death but he needs to snap out of it and realise that its not working to plan regarding the signings, and before anyone makes a selfish comment like ” KD is a legend ” and ” KD knows all ” well sorry to burst ur eye vessells NO KD doesnt know all. Im sure he is trying and who better but we all make mistakes and hge and Commolli have made a few.

And with all that shite we are still sitting 4 points off a Champions League place, haven’t lost at home and have loss less games than the three teams above us (Newcastle, Arsenal and Chelsea).

I think some of our fans need to wake up and realise that people like Mata and Hazard may not want to join LFC – not that we don’t want to buy them?

Kudos to Chelsea boss for seeing Eden Hazard as a right man to make his team in the coming days. As an Arsenal fan, these’re the kind of players Lé Prof Arsene Wenger should go for. I cherish AVB for the move.

Chelsea management must try her best to seal the transfer of Hazard before the club like Real madrid hijack him from them.

Major coup!! What a load of tosh!

Chelsea are just a money club and solve their problems by paying over inflated prices for players on well over the top salaries! It’s ot a major coup, it’s just a club with no morals and any idea of the problems the rest of us decent hard working people face in today’s climate, buying a money hungry over rated mercenary!
    Football is a disgrace!!

JSP2303…..I hope to god your not a Liverpool fan…..lets be honest out of the top 6 only Spurs and Arsenal have a team that has value for money and they havent spent loads, I think both clubs record signings are 16 million.

Down the years United have wasted 30mill on Veron, 20 mill on Anderson, 30 mill on Berbatov and 16mill on De Gea………………..City dont need to be mentioned they are a financial joke……..Chelsea 50mill Torres, 27 on Luiz and 30mill on Shevchenko………..and Liverpool more recently 20mill on Downing, 20 mill on Hendo, 35mill on Carroll.

Arsenals best players RVP, Vermealan and Ramsay cost 17.5million……Spurs paid 14 million for Lennon, Bale and VDVaart…….
