With little over six days remaining in the January transfer window, Liverpool fans are hoping that Kenny Dalglish has a few surprises up his sleeve before the window slams shut.

So far, like the majority of Premier League clubs, Liverpool have been very quiet in the window and even the transfer gossip is thin on the ground.

However, here’s one piece that may provide a little hope to the Anfield faithful. The Daily Star have reported that Liverpool have made an offer for £15m rated midfielder Mauricio Isla.

The Star doesn’t disclose the exact amount Liverpool are said to have offered but it does report that Kenny Dalglish has been impressed with the Chilean this season after he put in some eye-catching performances for current club Udinese.

Although Isla is predominantly a midfielder, he’s a versatile player who can play on the wing and also at full-back. At 23-years-old he’s also a good age so in theory he looks like a good potential addition to the squad.

Our verdict on this transfer gossip: The Star have provided very little detail about this supposed ‘offer’ and their report lacks any real substance. Although Kenny Dalglish may be a fan of the player, at this point this piece of transfer news must go down as pure speculation.
