Eden Hazard Latest – Saga Takes Another Twist After PSG Flirting

The Eden Hazard transfer merry-go-round has taken another twist after the player was quoted in the Daily Mirror flirting with a move to PSG. Where will he end up?

The Eden Hazard transfer saga has taken another twist today after the player was quoted in the Daily Mirror flirting with a move to PSG.

Lille’s Belgian wonderkid has been filling the gossip columns for over 18 months now, with all the top Premier League clubs linked with a move at one stage or another. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City have all been credited with interest in recent months (source: Daily Mirror).

The Daily Mail claimed Chelsea were closing in on the 21-year-old 10 days ago, but the quotes in the Mirror today suggest he could now be keen on a move to French giants PSG:

“Of course, the interest from Paris is tempting. Paris Saint-Germain are a great club,”

“And especially with a coach like [Carlo] Ancelotti, that makes you even more keen. Only God know where I will be playing my football in 2012 though.” he’s quoted as saying in the Mirror.

It can’t be a coincidence that Hazard is now flirting with mega-rich PSG. Last summer it seemed like he wanted to join the club of his “dreams” or one that played great football. But the more this saga goes on, the more it looks like he’s looking for the biggest pay cheque on offer.

What next? Is he going to reveal he’s a life-long Anzhi Makhachkala fan and follow Samuel Eto’o to Russia to bank £300k a week? Maybe tomorrow we’ll hear that he would be interested in joining Anelka in China at Shanghai Shenhua?

With all due respect to PSG and French football, talents like Hazard deserve to be playing at the very top and the Belgian will have a lot better options to choose from than remaining in Ligue 1. If he did move to PSG, it would be purely down to money.

Of course, teams like City, United, Chelsea, Real, etc, will offer him a small fortune as well, so i’m not sure why he’s even considering PSG. In the end, i hope he makes the best footballing decision and not one based on money, and from a personal point of view i’d love to see him in the Premier League.

It looks like the club that does end up winning this ‘race’, will have to wait until the summer though as it’s highly unlikely Hazard will be moving before the end of the season. But i’m sure there will be a few more twists and turns before this transfer saga is finally settled.

he does already plays in Ligue 1 so probably wouldn’t go and say ‘nah, this French league is mickey mouse and you know it; either EPL or Spain for me’. As for chasing cash, of course, why not, everyone bangs on about this boy’s talent and all the big clubs are apparently interested so I guess he’s saying ‘show me the money’; mercenary or simply human?

lets be practical, we are only 3 days away to closure of the window. Who are we getting? No day dreaming, get a player who will come, not fortune seekers. We need a job to be done at arsenal. These crazy money hunters will not help us.

PSG is going to be the Bayern Munich of France. PSG’s trophy record in Europe is in the same ballpark as Chelsea and Arsenal. Hazard going to PSG is a forward thinking move. In the next few years under Ancelotti, PSG is going to be one of the best teams in Europe.

I dnt know why arsenal fans keep wasting their time thinking there is gonna be new signings, wake up and smell the cofee guys! Arsene ain’t gonna buy jack, the man is insensitive, he is destroying the club he helped built, personally i have lost my respect for him, and dont care whatever they do with the club cos i dont want to have a high BP because of AFC, nobody know i exist anyway, so why disturb myself about them?
