Have Spurs missed their chance to sign Chris Samba?

Wantaway Blackburn Rovers captain Christopher Samba has less than 12 hours to seal a move away from Ewood Park before the transfer window shuts until the summer.

The 6’4” giant has been requesting a move away from the Venky’s owned club this month and has not played for Rovers since pulling a sickie before the Fulham game on January 14.

Chris Samba has been in high demand this month; linked on numerous occasions with a switch to Tottenham Hotspur, Queens Parkers and Paris Saint-Germain (source: Telegraph) since announcing his intentions to play for a more ambitious side.

Blackburn Rovers lie in the relegation zone heading into the midweek fixtures, whilst a move to either Queens Park Rangers or Tottenham Hotspur would better suit the Congolese centre back’s ambitions.

Steve Kean’s side have yet to keep a clean sheet in their opening 22 league games – a Premier League record. However, Samba remains one of the hottest properties on the market and one of the most highly-rated centre backs in England.

How likely is a move today? Well it’s looking increasingly likely that Samba will remain at Ewood Park until the summer with very little news of developments as yet, but on deadline day, you just never know!

Mark Hughes’ Queens Park Rangers are 2/5 favourites with Sky Bet to make a move for Chris Samba today, whilst Tottenham Hotspur are 5/1 second favourites. Arsenal are 20/1 long shots to add him to their squad on January 31.
