[Teams] Arsenal vs Blackburn: Coquelin & Chamberlain Start

By on February 4, 2012

Arsenal welcome Blackburn Rovers to the Emirates today looking to pick up their first win of 2012 after only managing 1 point from 12 so far this year. However, despite this poor form of late, we’re still in touch with fourth-placed Chelsea and a win today will close the gap to just two points with the Blues playing United on Sunday.

Arsene has decided to rest Sagna today after the Frenchman made his comeback from a long injury lay-off against Bolton on Wednesday, Coquelin taking his place at right back. Chamberlain is passed fit to start after being a slight doubt with a knee injury. Ramsey gets a well deserved rest with Rosicky given the nod.

Arsenal Team

Szczesny, Coquelin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Song, Arteta, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Van Persie.

SUBS: Fabianski, Sagna, Ramsey, Benayoun, Arshavin, Henry, Park.

Blackburn Team

Robinson, Olsson, Givet, Dunn, Modeste, Gamst, Petrovic, Nzonzi, Dann, Hoilett, Lowe.

Vache! Coq at RB? Nice kick in the nuts to Yennaris who has had a very confident start I think. Poor sod, Chinese, Greek, Cypriot but sadly no French. It’s a hindrance to your career at Arsenal if you don’t have the old langue française! Even poor old Henri Lansbury who’s trying to fool the old gnome can’t get a look in either.
