Emmanuel Frimpong Ruled Out For Season

By on February 6, 2012

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has been ruled out for the rest of the season, on loan club Wolves have confirmed today.

Frimpong injured his right knee during Saturday’s 2-1 win over QPR and Wolves have now confirmed on their official website that the injury has been diagnosed as a rupture to the anterior cruciate ligament, ruling him out for the rest of the season.

He was due to remain on loan with the midlands club for the remainder of the season but will now travel back to London to see specialists and begin his rehabilitation with Arsenal.

It’s a huge blow for the 20-year-old who began his Wolves career in promising fashion as he looked to gain experience before pushing for a first team place with the Gunners next season.

Ironically, Frimpng had exactly the same injury on the opposite knee 2 years ago, so he’s unfortunately seeing his career derailed by serious injury. It seems that Arsenal’ s bad luck with injuries continues, even for those players on loan.

I’d like to wish Frimmers all the best and a speedy recovery.
