[Teams] Norwich vs Man Utd: Hernandez Starts As Rooney Misses Out

By on February 26, 2012

Manchester United will look to close the gap on league leaders Man City to two points as they take on Norwich City at Carrow Road this afternoon.

City recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over Blackburn at the Etihad on Saturday to extend their lead over their rivals to five points, so victory today is vital for United.

Wayne Rooney doesn’t make the game after suffering from a throat infection, Hernandez and Welbeck start up front. Ryan Giggs makes his 900th appearance while Phil Jones starts at right back.

Here are the confirmed teams:

Norwich Team

Ruddy, Drury, Johnson, Whitbread, Holt, Jackson, Surman, Pilkington, Fox, Ward, Naughton.

SUBS: Steer, Morison, Crofts, Hoolahan, Bennett, Barnett, Wilbraham.

Man Utd Team

De Gea, Jones, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Wellbeck, Hernandez

SUBS: Amos, Berbatov, Smalling, Park, Young, Fabio, Rafael.

We’ll have the goals up shortly after the final whistle so check back later.
