Arsenal Transfer News: Lukas Podolski Agrees Personal Terms?

Reports tonight are claiming that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with German striker Lukas Podolski ahead of a potential summer move to the Emirates Stadium

Podolski - agreed personal terms?

Evening Gooners. Some interesting news coming in tonight on the transfer front with reporting that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Lukas Podolski ahead of a summer move to the Emirates.

I’ll give you a quick overview of the report before giving my thoughts on it:

Goal claim that the 26-year-old remains a target for Arsene Wenger after the Gunners boss had two bids turned down for the striker in the summer. But they claim the German international has now agreed personal terms with Arsenal and is in line to make the move to England in the summer.

Not to be a kill-joy or anything, but i wouldn’t be getting too excited about this rumour just yet. Sure Podolski has been linked with us in recent months and no doubt there is interest there, but i really can’t see how it’s possible he’s agreed terms on a move at this stage in the season.

I think Podolski will wait until the summer before committing his future, much like Van Persie, and these reports are nothing but speculation. Not only that, but Arsenal are also unlikely to be committing to any serious transfer moves until the end of the season when we know whether we have secured Champions League football or not, as well as knowing what Van Persie’s future is.

I would imagine Podolski forming a great partnership with Van Persie. They are two clever players and I think they would compliment eachother very well. Makes me think of the great partnership Lucas has/had with Klose for Germany. Hope this is true, but I think we’ll have to wait a few months to find out.

I don’t even know what Park’s level really is. Lille wanted him pretty badly it seemed.

No point in getting excited or despondent about this news as nothing can be decided until the Summer Window.

He’s nowhere near chamakh and parks dismal level. This season he’s bangin in goals constantly and he plays an important role in the germany squad which is riddled with talented players. He’s jus been on the wrong team for too long his hometown club and the board are making fake promises about the clubs future just like arsenal so he wants to leave.

Typical crap new story. Always happens during an international break. Nobody is being signed until we have sold players, figured out if we are even playing in CL, etc

Some of you guys are very bitter, you believe nothing good would ever come out of Arsenal but sorry to disappoint,he already signed and he’d do wonders for us,you guys should go support the 5pud2 as you’ve decided to criticise a player who hasnt even worn the shirt not to talk of kicking the ball

All the more reason to go for quality signings if we struggle to make it to the top four. Sign now, so that even if we cant qualify, we still have top players at the helm next season

Cannot believe people who class themselves as Arsenal fans, and saying they wouldn’t welcome Podolski.

Are you blind, thick and very much soft in the head?

The lad has kept Koln in the Bundesliga year after year.
He has a wand of a left foot, just like RVP and would be a great addition to the starting line-up.

He’s VERY fast, small but strong and is a team player.

Watch him for Germany and you can see what he’s capable of, with talented players around him.

I for one, cannot wait to have this news confirmed by, come the summer.
