Ambitious Owner Confirms Interest In Signing Striker
PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi has confirmed he’s interested in signing Liverpool’s Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez in the summer, according to Sky Sports News.
PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi has confirmed his interest in signing Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in the summer, according to Sky Sports News.
Al-Khelaifi heads-up a Qatar investors group who now own the French giants and the ambitious owners have already spent heavily in order to try and bring success back to Paris.
With PSG currently topping the Ligue 1 table, it looks like their plan is already paying off and according to quotes on Sky Sports News today the big-spending owners have identified Liverpool striker Luis Suarez as a key signing this summer.
Al-Khelaifi also claimed he is interested in Real Madrid hitman Gonzalo Higuain with the aim of spending big for the next 5-6 years in order to win the Champions League and find the new Messi. Here is what Al-Khelaifi is quoted as saying:
“We are already looking at the market for next season,” he said.
“We have clear targets in mind. It is true that we want Luis Suarez and Gonzalo Higuain.
“Our real short-term targets are to win the Champions League and find a new Lionel Messi.
“We will spend what is normal for a top-class club. We prefer to invest a lot and immediately.”
“In the next five or six years, we still spend this amount. Then the investments will slow.” Al-Khelaifi on Sky Sports News
So it looks like Liverpool may be bracing themselves for a summer bid for their star man. But it remains to be seen whether the Uruguayan would be interested in moving to Ligue 1, which is well below the standards of the Premier League.
