Hazard - Wanted man

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has been speaking about his reported interest in Lille star Eden Hazard today, labelling him a “fantastic player”.

Hazard is one of Europes hottest properties and has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Tottenham and Man Utd in recent transfer windows (source: talkSPORT).

Speaking at his weekly press conference on Friday ahead of this weekends FA Cup quarter final against Bolton, Redknapp was quizzed about his interest in the 21-year-old. The Spurs boss admitted he likes the Belgian international and revealed he has watched him on several occasions, but he insists he has no idea how negotiations are going between chairman Daniel Levy and Lille. He’s quoted by talkSPORT as saying:

“I like him. He’s a fantastic player but I don’t know where the club is at with that. The chairman will deal with that and if anyone’s talking to Lille it would be him. We’ve watched him an awful lot and he’s a player with fantastic talent.” Redknapp said.

The Hazard transfer saga promises to be an intriguing one this summer, with numerous clubs vying for his signature. You wouldn’t discount Spain’s ‘Big Two’ from entering the race and there seems to be a lot of interest from the Premier League. Where he’ll end up is anyone’s guess, but whoever signs him is getting one hell of a talent, that’s for sure.
