Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Udinese duo Mauricio Isla and Mehdi Benatia this summer, according to talkSPORT.
The Premier League rivals are said to have been tracking both Isla and Benatia for some time now but could miss out on landing the impressive duo, as Napoli are currently favourites to sign the pair.
Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo is also quoted by talkSPORT as confirming that several clubs have enquired about the players:
“At the end of the season we will see what happens, but it is certainly true that several clubs have asked about these players,” Pozzo is quoted by talkSPORT as saying.
Isla is a versatile Chilean international who can play in a variety of positions including right-back and centre-back, as well as right midfield and central midfield, so the 23-year-old would prove to be a useful addition to any squad.
Benatia is a Moroccan defender who only joined Udinese in 2010 from French Ligue 2 club Clermont, but has been hugely impressive during his 33 appearances so far.
