Arsenal Confirm Exciting Youngster To Sign For Royals

Arsenal have confirmed today on Arsenal.com that youngster Benik Afobe has joined Championship side Reading on loan for the rest of the season.

Afobe is one of our most exciting talents and made his debut during the Emirates Cup last summer. He was pushing for a place within the first team squad this season before serious injury halted his progress. However, he has now made a full recovery and will link up with the Royals to continue his comeback and get some much-needed first team experience.

The 19-year-old attacker enjoyed a very successful loan spell with Huddersfield last season, where he scored 8 goals in 36 appearances and helped them make the League One play-off final.

Hopefully he can have a similar experience with Reading and continue his development, come back in the summer and really make a real case for a first team place.

Afobe is Arsenal through-and-through and has been with the club since he was eight years old, so i would love to see him make it at the Emirates. There is nothing better than one of your own coming through the ranks to become a first team regular.
