Chelsea and Tottenham played out a goal-less draw at Stamford Bridge today, a result that suited Arsenal more than anyone. The first half was a totally forgettable affair as both sides struggled to get going, the only real chance fell the Rafael van der Vaart who saw his close range effort saved by Cech and Cole blocked the subsequent rebound.

The second half was far more exciting, with Spurs having the better chances. Adebayor, Gallas and Walker went close before Bale hit the bar with a powerful header and also forced Cech into a fine save from a late free kick. Mata also struck the woodwork for the Blues with a free kick.
