Arsenal moved five points clear of fourth-placed Tottenham (too early to say ‘mind the gap’?) last night with a 3-0 win over Wolves. A Robin van Persie penalty and a tidy finish from Theo Walcott put us 2-0 up within 11 minutes and we were relatively comfortable after that before Benayoun made it 3-0 in the second half.
However, there was a period midway through the second half when Wolves were on top and could have pulled one back had it not been for a stunning save from Wojciech Szczesny. The Polish stopper made a point-blank reaction save from a Kevin Doyle header to keep the score at 2-0. If Wolves had got one back then, who knows what the final score would have been.
