Wilshere - Ruled out

Off the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Wigan, Arsenal have been dealt another blow after manager Arsene Wenger confirmed Jack Wilshere is out for the season and will miss the Euro’s.

Wilshere has not played this season due to a troublesome ankle injury that he aggravated in pre season. Having initially been ruled out until the new year, Wilshere was close to a comeback in January but suffered a set back in training.

It was hoped he may return for the final few games of the season and prove his fitness ahead of this summers European championships, but following the defeat to Wigan Wenger is quoted by the Daily Mail as confirming the midfielder will not play again this season and will therefore miss the Euro’s.

‘Jack Wilshere will not play again this season and will not go to the Euros, that is for sure.

‘He is not ready to practice today or next week. He makes progress, but slow progress.

‘What is for sure is he will not be ready for the end of the season and not for the Euros.

‘He is devestated, and you can understand that.’ Wenger said on the Daily Mail
