Yann M’Vila Arrested – Has He Jeopardised Arsenal Or Man Utd Move?

Arsenal and Man Utd target Yann M’Vila has been released by police after being arrested for an alleged assault on a 17-year-old, according to Goal.com.

The Rennes midfielder missed Saturday’s 3-1 win over AC Ajaccio due to what was described as ‘personal reasons’, and it’s now been revealed M’Vila was arrested on Monday following an incident at his home on Friday night where he’s accused of striking a 17-year-old man.

The France international spent the night in police custody before being released on Tuesday morning, and the 21-year-old’s lawyer, Thierry Fillion, is quoted by Goal.com as saying:

“Yann has acknowledged that it was an inappropriate response but provoked by the betrayal of the trust he gave to this young man,”

“As it stands, no decision has been taken yet by the Rennes prosecutor on this case but the file will be forwarded to him within eight to 10 days.”

The Sun recently reported that M’Vila is a target for both Arsenal and Manchester United, but this could scupper any potential move to the Premier League this summer. Depending on the outcome of court proceedings, Wenger and Fergie may decide against making a move for the player following this incident.

Heck, arsenal needs such a fiery bloke. Stoke wouldn’t kick any of our players. Might even stop the britanica stadium from taunting Wenger lol!

Adam, if you’d had your leg shattered/broken in half, 18 months ago do you think you’d be completely rehabilitated by now? Do you think your development in any career, let alone football, might be set back a bit? Ramsey had an ordinary season by the standards he set prior to “that tackle”, however, he still did quite well all considered. What you can’t question is Ramsey’s desire, commitment and professionalism. I however, can question your ability to spell. Ramsey is not spelt Ramsy, it is spelt Ramsey. A big clue is written in large letters on the back of his shirt, another is on the Arsenal website, yet even more are on the match report where you’ll see that he covers more ground than almost every other player on the pitch. Have a think before you type. If you like criminal players, go support Chelski, they’ve got loads of players, owners for you to admire and lots of fans who can’t spell. You’ll feel right at home!

whilst adam has gone overboard on ramsey. and i agree he was a fantastic player before his injury, so was eduardo. and simply was not the same after that. I am an arsenal fan and i do not want players in our 1st 11 who are not good enough. maybe loan him out for another season he is still young and very committed, but right now he is not good enough to be in our side and if we want to start challenging then we need to purchase players like mvilla and that would push ramsey further back. unfortunately you need to look at the bigger picture for arsenal, not just stand by ramsey because something awful happened to him. The bigger picture is whats best for arsenal football club and it is not ramsey

No I don’t think we should have another wanna be gangster in our team, picking on a 17 year old “adult” is just plain Chav like. Arsenal have class we are not tottenham. Martinez is our man

@Dom, He’s only 21 so he’s barely that much older than the guy he hit. And you don’t know the circumstances under which this incident occured so you should not judge him for it.

A 21 year old male gets in a fight with a 17 year old male? Hmm. More information is needed to make a final judgement, but my first reaction is “so what”. It’s not like he struck a woman or a child. When I was 21 I’m afraid to say I got involved in more than my share of fights. Looking back I can’t even claim that any one of those fights was justified, but I guess I just come from a different time when “buys could be boys” and this sort of thing would never become a police matter.

From a football point of view it will have no effect but I don`t know if it could prevent him from getting a work visa (that`s if he needs one).

The fact that he assaulted someone should not be reason why we drop him, no.We want him 4 he plays football nothing else and does it well.No body’s above mistakes, and he has learnt his lessens. So we should cash in on this incident go 1st 2 purchace him show him that we’re committed 2 the deal
