[Video] Aston Villa 1-1 Tottenham: 10-Man Spurs Held By Villa

By on May 6, 2012

Tottenham blew their chance to move above Arsenal into third, after being held to a 1-1 draw at Villa Park. The home side took a shock lead when a Clarke effort deflected off Gallas and past Friedel into the net. The away side were then reduced to 10-men when Rose was sent off for a challenge on Hutton.

Despite being a man down, Spurs continued to dominate the game and drew level after Sandro was brought down by Dunne in the area, Adebayor making no mistake from the spot. Tottenham pushed for a winner but couldn’t breach a stubborn Villa defence and the game ended 1-1. Watch highlights here:

Harry, one of the worst set of tactics you have pursued!! as soon as you knew newcastle were beaton and knowing a win against fulham will get us champions league next year[chelsea havnt a chance of beating Bayern] you should have gone for a win!! didnt you understand our position—-its just hopeless!!! A spurs supporter for over 50 years—i think ive just lost it!!
