Arsenal have confirmed that midfielder Jack Wilshere underwent successful knee surgery on Tuesday afternoon. The operation was said to be ‘minor’ and was performed in Sweden by a top knee specialist.

Wilshere used his official Twitter account to confirm the surgery went well and post some pictures of himself just hours after the surgery. The first picture (above) shows him in the gym, and he later posted a picture of his leg wrapped in bandages as he lay in bed resting back at his hotel.

Arsenal claim the latest surgery shouldn’t affect his target of returning in time for the start of next season, and i really hope that’s the case. It would be devastating if Jack suffered any sort of set back or lengthy lay-off from this latest problem. I can’t wait to see Wilshere back in the famous Red & White, it’s been too long!
