Man City Interest Puts M’Vila Deal In Doubt As Wenger Lines Up ‘Plan B’

M'Vila - talks stalled

Arsenal are lining up a £10m bid for Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue after their move for long-term target Yann M’Vila stalled amid interest from Man City.

Arsene Wenger has been tracking M’Vila for some time now and has been in talks with Rennes about signing the defensive midfielder. However, the Daily Mail claim that the Gunners move for the 21-year-old could be in serious doubt after talks between the two clubs stalled and Man City confirmed their interest in taking him to the Etihad this simmer.

This has forced Wenger to look into possible alternatives and Capoue is thought to be the Frenchman’s first choice ‘Plan B’ should he fail to land M’Vila.

Capoue, 23, is highly regarded in France and Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are also said to be keeping tabs on the 6ft 2 inch defensive midfielder, while Barcelona have been linked with a move in the past. The Mail believe Capoue could cost around £10m, which is about half what Rennes are demanding for M’Vila.

Where is the proof that Wenger waited? Post it please because I havent seen any?

All I have read is that M’Vila himself stated he didnt want to decide his future until after the final game of the season, so if Man city come in with a big money offer then what do you expect Wenger to do about that?

how many clubs wanted podolski, that time wenger acted quickly, he got him, its not hard to put an extra 1 mill in an offer so you can get him, I believe arsenal have at least 2 important signing on their way but wenger is going to wait, same shit with Cristiano and look wer he is now, we could have that 80 mill not man u.

Must we continue to be second best at buying players? The attitude of ‘waiting until it’s lost’ must stop. I agree that capoue is a magnificent player but why should we wait for our top target to be hijacked by our rivals? we must show agression it getting what we want.

All these clubs with more money than brain will always wait for Arsenal to identify a player then move in to hijack everything with their ill-gotten wealth! FFP will catch up with them.

Balking at 16 Million? I don’t think so. Not after paying 15 Million for Oxlade-Chamberlain – an unproven child.

M’Vila deal probably has a wage demand souring the deal.

Really why would M’villa go to city, because at city he can never grow as a player see the likes of de jong,Adam johnson etc. They both want out that shows you that money is not all that matters and mvilla will maybe play 1 or 2 seasons and then when there is a new kid on the block they would get rid of him. But at arsenal he would be very a important player for the team and would be at arsenal for many years to come. If he has any adviser then arsenal should be his best bet. Arsene please put your hands in your pocket and cough up.
