Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has claimed that Real Madrid are interested in signing him, according to a report by the Guardian.
The Serbian defender missed Chelsea’s champions league victory over Bayern Munich through suspension but played a key role in getting the Blues to the final, scoring an injury time winner over Napoli.
The 28-year-old joined Chelsea in 2008 from Lokomotiv Moscow and signed a contract extension in February to take his current deal up to 2016.
Speaking on Sunday the defender is quoted by the Guardian as saying that Real Madrid are interested in his signature but claimed he is settled in London and is very happy at Chelsea.
‘I know what has been written about my future and that Madrid are following me, but now is not the time to talk about this,”
‘I am focused on the national team now and I am very happy at Chelsea.
‘I won the Champions League just one week ago and to think about changing clubs now is complicated. I am very happy in London.’
The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Madrid were lining up a £15m bid for the Blues stopper, as Jose Mourinho looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the champions league next season.
