Arsenal Transfer News: German Midfielder Want’s ‘Massive’ Arsenal Move

The transfer window is now open. Today, a German international midfielder has admitted he would love to join Arsenal. Find out who the mystery player is here.

The summer transfer window is open and Football Talk will bring you all the latest transfer news. Today, a German midfielder talks up a move to Arsenal.

Lewis Holtby

Schalke midfielder Lewis Holtby has admitted he would love to join Premier League side Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a switch the the Premiership due to the fact his father is English and he’s made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League one day.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Holtby admitted that should he make the move he would like to play for either Arsenal or Everton, but went on to claim a switch to the Gunners would be “massive” because they have always been his favourite side due to their attractive, attacking style of play.

“I have always said that my aim is to come to the Premier League one day because I love the league. My father is English and of course my favourite teams are Everton and Arsenal.

“It would be a massive move [to Arsenal] because Arsenal players were always my favourite. They play nice one-touch football, they’re offensive, have young players, a great stadium and a great city so it is a nice club.

“My thoughts now are first with Schalke but you never know.”

Holtby told talkSPORT.

Holtby has only recently made his mark at Schalke after spending two seasons out on loan at Bochun and Mainz. He was given his chance last season and made 27 appearances, scoring 6 goals, and has also broken into the German international set up.

At just 21 he certainly has plenty of time to develop in to a fine midfielder, however, he’s not going to be the marque signing many Gooners are crying out for.

Why arsenal should not sign players that they need, instead they bring in players that love to play for the club?, after two season or so they left for big money.

I have always been hoping that we would try to sign holtby! Young and capable player with bags of potential, can make an instant impact and develope into a vital par of the arsenal setup. A perfect replacement for Rosicky as he gets older. Please sign!!!

Either 2 buy big or not football world has already changes you can see last season arsenal only manage to won less than 50% of its games with lower premier leage teams. That show even lower teams are more ambitious than arsenal, every year sunderland use to defeat arsenal becouse that is their target to stop big teams from succes. To me arsenal is not big team, a big team is the one in which always looking 4 trnphies, consider juventus it was even ban and relegated but it know recovered and crowned serie A title. So our title is always qualifying for the champions leage as supporting team and remain in the premier league as load carrxer or escorts we ar tired of those nonsense.

Wenger should not waste time in buying quality players.Aclub like Arsenal should also be competitive in buying players. There is no way you can win trophies without sighning top quality players.spend money if if you want to win anything.Trophies go where there is money

Wenger, u ve tried ur best in keeping arsenal in a just safe level. But one thing remain, thats carring trophy even one once in a season. Ve u ever border hw d fan feels whn arsenal go home without even 1 trophy every season? I could term it as ‘unseriousness” so be wise and do what u ar suppose to do. Therefore, enter market and get us wht we want, wht u need and wht the world at large need.

I am really tired of sending any comments because they don’t really create any impact, if they did, Mr wenger would have since repented from his transfer policies since they yield no results. Notwithstanding, i don’t think Arsenal need Holtby. I have always said that what arsenal needs is an experienced world class midfielder to join forces with Arteta and Wilshere and an experienced striker to partner Van persie. It has always been my suggestion that Aaron Ramsey should leave arsenal for good.

Oh we need experienced midfielders, what like Rosicky or Yossi? New striker to pair with RVP up front, oh like Gerv was bought in for or how we just signed Podolski? If anything we need more solidarity on the back line or even new medical staff… Without injuries we woulda had an all right year… If Wenger bought us a trophy next year guarantee you’d all be praising him…
