Arsenal Go Cold On M’Vila As Rennes Confirm No Bid Made

Rennes have confirmed they are yet to receive a bid for Yann M’Vila, with Arsenal said to have dropped their long-standing interest in the powerful midfielder

Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Rennes confirm they are yet to receive an offer for Yann M’Vila.

Yann M'Vila

Rennes have confirmed they are yet to receive a bid for Yann M’Vila with Arsenal said to have dropped their interest in the midfielder, according to the Metro.

The report claims that Arsenal have been tracking the Frenchman for around 18 months and that the player himself has made it clear he wants to leave Rennes this summer to go to the Premier League and ‘work under a famous French manager’.

The Telegraph claimed earlier in the summer that a £17.7m deal to take him to north London was almost done, however those reports seem to be wide of the mark as Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi has confirmed the club are yet to receive any firm offer for the player:

‘There is interest in Yann M’Vila, but no concrete offers. It is early in the window, we will wait for offers to arrive,’

Dreossi is quoted as saying by the Metro.

Arsenal’s interest is thought to have cooled after the 21-year-old was involved in a spat with French boss Laurent Blanc at Euro 2012, and the Metro are now claiming that the Gunners interest is all but over following the latest disciplinary incident.

M’Vila will return from holiday in around 10 days time at which point it’s thought he will look to clarify his future. But the way things are looking right now, he’s unlikely to be heading to the Emirates this summer.

Yann was very disapointing in Euro ’12. i haven’t seen his games in the French league, but i feel he is too slow and rough in tackles.

we need a swift talented attacking midfielder to replace Nasri and Cesc. Also we are not sure of J.Wilshere’s recovery.

right. m’vila is so overrated somehow. hope he doesnt become an arsenal player, because coquelin will become an excellent DM soon enough, and there is also frimpong.
yes, a swift attacking mid is what we are lacking, but i dont think it will be long before chamberlain is ready. rosicky also still has another couple of good years left hopefully.
Assuming wilshere will be fine for the season and RVP stays, we have a good squad that can challenge for titles now.

Arsenal transfer activity is over for this season. I mean buying activity.

Selling activity may start soon and will say, AW will not find good replacement in transfer market.

Now arsenal is concentrating more to get good money for RVP.

M’villa is a good player, but i don’t think we need him in the Arsenal squad. Arsene Wenger should give Francis Coquolin a better chance. He is a very good and a promising player with much to give out. I don’t want him to leave arsenal. Please do something about it.

give me one single bit of footage of this player that shows he is a top class player who would be of value to arsenal. i’ve seen lots of video of him playing, but he has failed to impress me and strikes me as a purely holding midfielder, without any particular combativeness. coquelin and frimpong are the future of the club, we dont need other players standing in their way. in the meantime, arteta and song are both adequate to say the least.

Again i will plead with our team manager Arséne Wenger to please go for Tunisian youngstar Youssef Msakni. He will be a good signing for the team cos he has the strength, endurance, creativity and pace coupled with pass accuracy. Pls, go for him before Udinese. One of my dream is to be in the arsenal technical crew someday.

dats a gud talk @John Isty but u know we cant face clubs like chelsea, Mancity, ManU, & even Everton bcos we need strenght in d mid-field. If u take a luk at Wayne Rooney, Baloteli, & Jose Mourinho. So padon me we realy need Yann M’Vila to join Alex Song in d Mid-field. Thanks

song and arteta let in 48-8 goals in or whatever that is.
Apart from the boy’s adoleence problems,Mvilla is exactly what will make us world beaters.
If we have arteta why do ya need Biglia.I am not saying that he is bad, but i think he does not provide any addition to quality that we already have.Plus he is like very almost 30.
Just kidding! wenger please sign Paul Scholes.
