Arsenal & Chelsea Linked With £5m-Rated French Midfielder

Arsenal and Chelsea are among a host of clubs alerted to the news that £5m rated Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven N’Zonzi could be set for a move this summer

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Arsenal and Chelsea are linked with Steven N’Zonzi.

Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs alerted to the news that Steven N’Zonzi could be set for a summer move, according to the Sun.

The report claims that the French midfielder has failed to link up with the rest of the Blackburn Rovers squad for their pre-season training camp in Austria.

The Daily Mail suggest that manager Steve Kean told the 23-year-old to stay away after talks over the players future broke down last week, with Kean now resigned to losing the £5m-rated midfielder this summer.

N’Zonzi joined Rovers in 2009 from French second division side Amiens SC and has gone on to play 66 times in the Premier League. He was a rare positive during a disappointing 2011/12 season for Blackburn but is now set to end a 3 year stay at Ewood Park following their relegation to the championship.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo are both on the look-out for a defensive-minded midfielder and with plenty of Premier League experience, N’Zonzi may prove to be an shrewd purchase.

With all these rumours with Chelsea linked to Oscar, i think its bad bad move getting another attacking midfielder. We are in dire need of a defensive midfielder with Essien on the out and Obi Mikel being a makeshift defensive midfielder. I think N’zonzi would be a good buy as hes young, had alot of potential and relativly cheap cjeap

Chelsea needs 2 sign an attacker 2 replace Drogba & a right full back, not mid-fielders

He is not good enough for both clubs, except as a backup player to the starting eleven.

Could be a good buy, considering that he is cheap and most other defensive midfielder are costly. Also wit romeu keen on barca return, the move could be a good one.

Nzonzi would be a good addition to the Arsenal to put some steel and backbone in the midfield we have lacked since the departure of Patrick Vieira. Nzonzi comes at a good price, so there is no excuse not to sign him unless you’re inept and cannnot see the positive aspects he can bring to the Arsenal.
