Arsenal have received a ‘number of offers’ for want-away striker Robin van Persie, according to Sky Sports News.

The Dutch hitman stunned the Gunners last month by releasing a statement declaring his intention not to sign a new contract with the club this summer.

With just 12 months to run on his current deal, Arsenal are now forced to either cash in on their skipper or lose him for nothing next summer.

After weeks of speculation, ‘Sky Sports Sources’ are now claiming that the north Londoners have received a number of firm offers for Van Persie, amid reported interest from Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus.

The 28-year-old returned to training on Monday and is believed to have held further talks with manager Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis, after the player had previously expressed his concerns over the clubs ambitions.

If Sky Sports are accurate, Arsenal officials must now decide how they will respond to the offers they have received for their skipper with all parties keen to find a resolution quickly.

Do not let him go to man city our man utd no more selling to direct rivals… If he wants to go no problem give him his choices outside of england and say there you go son, juve, bayern, psg..etc.

If City and Utd are going to pay more that Juventus then he has to be sold to the highest bidder.

The money then needs to be reinvested in the team

The red faced is noted for trying to weaken his rivals. Recall Cole/Yorke.he tried to get Veira but Wenger was too smart for him. Now it’s a different ball game.
I say if Juventus offer less money than rf and MC,let him go to Italy. If not Wenger will suffer the consequences of the added goal threat of the two English clubs.
If arsenal fail to challenge,I think,Wenger should go. Maybe a new man can help the gunners to challenge.Sometimes after so many years of underachievement,a fresh/new approach is needed. With a new man comes new ideas.

Quite right. He should go to the highest bidder, regardless.
If possible by the end of this week. He shouldn’t go on the Far East tour in favour of concentrating on his forthcoming move.
This is when a David Dein would be useful at Arsenal.

Interesting where SSN got that from,as I believe the only offical bid is he £8m from Juve. I do wish the media would stop making things up andhat others wouln’t report them as fact – whic is what your headline is doing, even though you later attribute to SSN.

    Poor journalism AGAIN.

When Buffon wanted to opt out juve forced him to stay, arsenal should also show the world that it can retain its best player, let him finish his contract here and leave for free next summer.van persie is a betrayal, traitor and greedy player, why he didn’t leave his country,he has been playing for since 2005 but no cup.
